Wedding photographer in Primrose Hill
I was really looking forward to being a wedding photographer in Primrose Hill, for Lucy and Alan’s London wedding. Another exciting place was wedding reception at the Freud’s Museum in Hampstead. It was very strangely nice to be able to walk from home to the church and photograph a wedding at St Mary’s Church.
I started photographing the arriving guest at the Church. Lucy and Alan arrived last, together. The ceremony was very intimate with some lovely readings. Bride’s daughter secretly arranged a London wedding red router bus to take bride and groom with all the guests to Freud’s Museum, as a surprise. As the bride walked out of the church she was very pleasantly surprised by her daughter gesture. Being so close to the Primrose Hill park we walked in for some group photos.
Even though the Freud museum is local to me I have not previously photographed a wedding there, nor visited the museum. The original house and its interior remained the family home until Anna Freud, the youngest daughter, died in 1982. The centrepiece of the museum is Freud’s study, preserved just as it was during his lifetime. It was her wish that the house become a museum to honour her illustrious father.
After the usual funny and emotional speeches, wedding breakfast followed and then cake cutting. The sunny day allowed the bride and groom enjoy the afternoon in beautiful Freud’s garden with their friends and family.
Bride and Grooms first dance did not last for very long as the guests could not wait to be invited to join the bride and groom. There was a great vibe and joy to be with all the guests in one room, even myself secretly danced. It was really my honour to be the part of Lucy and Alan’s wedding day. Here are some of my favourite images of their day in Primrose Hill and Freud’s Museum.
